Little Luxuries

Another part of this week was the exploration into authentic little luxuries.
The lady with the raspberries really resonated with me...they are one of my favorites - nothing quite compares to the delight of popping fresh raspberries into the mouth, unless its picking them fresh from the canes and eating them as fast as you fill the bucket! I bought a package of them at the store...
Another little luxury I like is Chai Spice Tea with cream...ummmm...always reminds me of the smell of Christmas...one of the coffee stations where I work has this tea frequently available and for a mere 25 cents I can revel in the taste and scent as I sip.
I saw something at one of the stores today that I think would be a great little luxury - a small rollup case with colored pencils and a small sketch pad...that would be a cool thing to carry around - making one will be vastly cheaper than what the boutique store that I was in wanted for it (it was made of purple suede!) and I can tailor it to my selection of pencils...

Since you're coming to the AZ retreat, remind me and I'll bring some chai--I make it from "scratch" from a recipe my best friend gave me. I'm a coffee drinker, but like making it precisely because of the aromas.

I'm also a Chai fan, though I have mine with soy milk (known as a "choy" in the local coffee shop). A couple weeks ago--about the time it became too cold to take a break for a walk to the coffeeshop--I brought soy milk and liquid chai mix into the office ... a little luxury I've been enjoying ever since :-)

Ok, I'll have to try some chai tea. Can I get it at Starbucks? I need to run by there and get some gift cards this week for teacher gifts.

I love raspberries. You're right, picking them and popping them in your mouth as you go along is the ultimate

Don't know about Starbucks...I don't hang around there! (And I am not sure I WANT to know if they have it! I am sure its more than 25 cents there!)
The brand they have here at work is Stash...I have tasted a couple others and Stash is the best so far...

I buy Stash chai tea bags at Trader Joe's - had a cup this evening as a matter of fact - I like both the green chai and the black chai.

I ran a few errands this afternoon and Trader Joe's had a container of pomegranate seeds - first time I had seen them that way. I love pomegranates, but dealing with the whole fruit is a pain. So I bought myself a container!

Oh...gonna have to make the drive to TJs! Its not a convient store to go to though - nearest is a 20 minute drive so I don't go there very frequently - thats probably a good thing, as I would spend sooo much money there! I was wondering where to get the Stash teas...and I adore pomegranates too - but hate the work of getting to the pips - my hands get so sticky trying to peel them out - but I eat'em anyway - we have a small bush that produces lots of small sized fruits...I hope my TJs has them!

TJ's tea prices are better than my local grocery store. I paid $3.50 for a small - 6-8 oz.? - container of pomegranate seeds - the whole fruit is usually $1.99 in the grocery stores here, so I figured $3.50 to have the seeds readily accessible was a deal!
